An adaptive brand for a digital city

Digital Derry
Frank was engaged by the city of Derry to develop a new brand for its digital content initiative. Digital Derry aims to position the city as a digital centre of excellence, capitalizing on inward investment, a rich pool of talent and the promise of unrivaled bandwidth and broadband penetration.
Following a process of ideation and collaboration with the project team, we developed an iconic symbol derived from the two subject’s two Ds. The brand mark can follow convention and endorse promotional activity but moreover; we challenged startups, students and digital professionals to rework it, change it and apply it in any way they see fit.
Digital Derry as a distinctive but effervescent chameleon. The solution delivers a high level of visibility by linking a progressive government initiative to a niche audience through a flexible system, imagination and shared ownership.
