Project Overview
BBC Northern Ireland commissioned Imagine Media to create an exciting new Irish language game show for teenagers. Combining elements of physical & mental challenge. “An Bhearna Bhaoil” or “The Danger Zone” was the result — an energetic remix of classics like “The Crystal Maze” and newcomers like “Total Wipeout”.
We worked closely with Imagine Media to create an extensive system of graphics including opening titles, stings, scoreboards and a fully animated game map to mark the transistion between challenges. Our inspiration was drawn from sources as diverse as the graphics and visual language of contemporary video games and ancient celtic ogham symbolism.
