Animating typography for the feature film “Cherrybomb”

  Film directors Glenn Leyburn and Lisa Barros D’Sa came to Frank and asked us to create a unique motion graphics style for the visual integration of text messages into their film "Cherrybomb". The film, set in present day Belfast follows two friends set against one another by a femme fatale played by Kimberley Nixon.

  We developed a graphic language for the film based on the text messaging theme, interwoven with typographic references to the Belfast's ports and shipyards. Opening and end titles were created as well as the series of animated sequences in which the main characters text one another. We also designed the movie poster for the film’s premiere at the Berlin Film Festival.
