Building a legacy of building excellence

H&J Martin
Inspired by their illustrious 170 year history, H&J Martin build, maintain, and fit offices, shopping centres and public buildings throughout UK, Ireland and Europe.
H&J’s business development team engaged Frank to design and build a new website that would better promote the building stalwart’s complete service offering. We were charged with painting a more vivid picture of the company’s history, culture, capability and continued growth. This ambitious project involved a major overhaul of H&J’s previous website. We collaborated with a stakeholder group from across the company’s various divisions, working iteratively on content strategy, structure and usability.
We designed a user interface that builds on H&J’s visual identity, using the company’s brand mark as a device to organise content. The site’s reductive, clean layout lends contrast and clarity to the company’s impressive portfolio of client projects. Optimised for mobile devices, H&J Martin’s new website features site-wide search, extensive content management and links to a secure client area.
The site was built to make all content fully visible to search engines and H&J identified a set of keywords that should rank as high as possible in Google search results. Within two weeks of launch, searches for these keywords were returning results placing the new website in Google's 'natural' top three.
